Carmen is based in Shawnee, KS so it's no surprise that her local riding spot is Shawnee Mission Park.  Her interests in cycling range anywhere from gravel grinding to enduro racing. Carmen has been deeply involved in the KC MTB community for several years now, acting as one of the original organizers of the KC Women's Dirt Summit. She is now the president of the KC LadyDudes - an organization dedicated to growing the sport by encouraging, connecting and supporting other women mountain bikers. Her race resume over the past year includes a 1st place finish at the Singletrack Mind Fest Enduro amateur class and a 2nd place Cat 3 finish at the Switchgrass XC MTB Race. Carmen is also a BICP Level 2 Certified Skills Instructor. 

Ivy is based is in Kansas City, MO. She rides and trains on some of KC’s best trails, Landahl and Swope Park. Over the years Ivy has competed in XC and marathon XC races throughout the region but over the past 2 seasons she has set her focus on the Southern Enduro Tour. 5 podium finishes in the 6 race series landed her in 2nd place in the Pro Women's Overall in 2018. She also took the Pro Women's Overall win at the Singletrack Mind Enduro in 2017. Ivy has dozens of coaching hours logged over the past 3 years. She is a BICP Level 2 certified skills instructor. Being one of the organizers of the KC Women’s Dirt Summit and an ambassador for the KC LadyDudes makes her a well known face in the Kansas City mountain bike community.

       The Roots MTB Coaches are female mountain bikers with a simple goal: Get more women on bikes! ​These riders travel throughout the Midwest competing at races, attending mtb festivals as well as developing and teaching at women's specific events. They lead group rides, they educate new riders, and they help create a positive environment for all mountain bikers.

Renee Thierry

​​Laura is based in St. Charles, MO and she is a familiar face on the Midwest MTB racing scene. She can usually be found training and playing on her favorite local trails, Greensfelder and the Chubb Trail. She got her start as an adventure racer where she competed for nearly a decade. In 2010 she did her first marathon XC race, the BT Epic, Missouri’s premier XC race. She’s been on the podium at that race every year since, as well as winning it in 2017. Also in 2017, Laura brought home the gold at the USAC Marathon MTB Nationals. She’s raced many of the big MTB events across the country including the Leadville 100, the Lumberjack 100, and the Fool’s Gold 50. Her experience isn’t limited to XC however. In 2016 Laura won the Missouri State Championship Cyclocross Masters. In 2018 she won the Pro Omnium (Enduro/XC/Dirt Crit) at the Singletrack Mind Festival. Along with her dirt cred, she is also a BICP Level 1 Certified Instructor. She is a member of her local MTB club, the Gateway Off-Road Cyclists, and she helps out at various Women’s skills clinics throughout the area.

Ivy Chapin-Deason

Renee is an employee of Bike Stop Bicycles and a Liv ambassador for the Kansas City area.  She is based in Lee’s Summit, MO. When she’s not at the bike shop or out conducting women’s specific clinics for Liv, you’ll find her out shredding her local trails at Landahl or Lake Jacomo. Renee has a love for all forms of riding including gravel and road, but she currently focuses on marathon XC events such as the Quachita Challenge and the Berryman Epic. Over the years Renee has adjusted her focus to include trail building and skills coaching. She is an organizer of the KC Women's Dirt Summit and a BICP Certified Level 2 Skills Instructor with several years of coaching and guiding experience.
